ഗുണനം - മറ്റൊരു രീതി
66 നെ 48 കൊണ്ട് ഗുണിക്കാന് , താഴെ കാണുന്ന വിധം ക്രിയ ചെയ്യാം.

അതായത് ഒന്നാമത്തെ കോളത്തില് 66 നെ പകുതിയാക്കി പകുതിയാക്കി എഴുതുക .(66,33 , 16 .......................1 എന്നിങ്ങനെ ).
പകുതിയാക്കുമ്പോള് വരുന്ന "1 /2" കളെ ഒഴിവാക്കുക .
പകുതിയാക്കുമ്പോള് വരുന്ന "1 /2" കളെ ഒഴിവാക്കുക .
അതേപോലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ കോളത്തില് 48 നെ ഇരട്ടിപ്പിച്ചു എഴുതുക (48 , 96 , 192 ..................എന്നിങ്ങനെ ).
നമ്മള് പകുതിയാക്കുന്ന കോളത്തില് എപ്പോള് ഒന്ന് എത്തുന്നുവോ അപ്പോള് ഈ ഇരട്ടിപ്പിക്കല് പരിപാടി നിര്ത്തുക .
ഇനി ഒന്നാമത്തെ കോളത്തിലെ ഒറ്റ സംഖ്യകള്ക്കു നേരെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ കോളത്തില് വരുന്ന സംഖ്യകള് കൂട്ടുക .
അതായിരിക്കും ഈ രണ്ടു സംഖ്യകളുടെയും ഗുണനഫലം .

ഗുണനപ്പട്ടികയില്ലാതെ ഗുണനം
ഗുണനപ്പട്ടിക അറിയില്ലെങ്കിലും നമുക്ക് സംഖ്യകളെ തമ്മില് ഗുണിക്കാന് കഴിയും .
ഉദാ:- 12 X 23
ആദ്യമായി ഓരോ സംഖ്യകള്ക്കും തുല്യമായ രേഖകള് വരയ്ക്കുക .എന്നിട്ട് അവ സംഗമിക്കുന്ന ബിന്ദുക്കളുടെ എണ്ണം നോക്കി നമുക്ക് ഗുണനഫലം കണ്ടുപിടിക്കാം .വിശദീകരണം താഴെ കൊടുക്കുന്നു .

വിലങ്ങനെയുള്ള വരകള് 12 നേയും (1 & 2 ) കുത്തനെയുള്ള വരകള് 23 നേയും (2 & 3 ) സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു
വിലങ്ങനെയും കുത്തനെയും ഉള്ള വരകള് സംഗമിക്കുന്ന ബിന്ദുക്കളുടെ എണ്ണം ഒരു ചതുരത്തിനകത്ത് അതിനടുത്ത് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു .
ഇനി ഉത്തരത്തിലേക്ക്.
ആദ്യം 6 (വലത് ഭാഗത്ത് താഴെയുള്ള സംഖ്യ) എഴുതുക .
രണ്ടാമത് 4 , 3 ( രണ്ടു കോണുകളിലും ഉള്ള) സംഖ്യകള് കൂട്ടി എഴുതുക (4+3=7).
അവസാനം 2 (ഇടത് ഭാഗത്ത് മുകളില് ഉള്ള സംഖ്യ)എഴുതുക.
ഉത്തരം :-- 12 X 23 = 276
രണ്ടക്ക സംഖ്യകള് വരുമ്പോള് ആദ്യത്തെ അക്കം തൊട്ടു മുന്പെയുള്ള അക്കത്തോട് കൂട്ടുക .
ഉദാ:- 45 x 37
ആദ്യം 35 ലെ 5 എഴുതുക. 3 ബാക്കി ................. ഒറ്റയുടെ സ്ഥാനത്തെ അക്കം 5
രണ്ടാമത് 15+28+3 (രണ്ടു കോണുകളിലും ഉള്ള 15 ഉം 28 ഉം പിന്നെ ആദ്യത്തെ സ്റ്റെപ്പില് ബാക്കി വന്ന 3 ഉം ) കൂട്ടുക.46 എന്ന് കിട്ടും............................... അതായത് പത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തെ അക്കം 6 ശിഷ്ടം 4
അവസാനം 12+4=16................ നൂറിന്റെയും ആയിരത്തിന്റെയും സ്ഥാനത്തെ അക്കങ്ങള് യഥാക്രമം 6 , 1 എന്നിവ.
അതായത് 45 X 37 = 1665
ഒരു ഉദാഹരണം കൂടി .

സ്റ്റെപ്പ് 2 (16+15+2=33).........34 (3 ബാക്കി)
സ്റ്റെപ്പ് 3 (32+10+3+3=48)...........834(4 ബാക്കി)
സ്റ്റെപ്പ് 5 (4+2=6).......................66834.
അതായത് 158 X 423 = 66834
